First Responder Health

As a first responder, you’ve carried burdens most people will never see. You’ve stood on the front lines, protecting others in moments of crisis — yet that same courage often comes with unseen wounds. Post Traumatic Stress Injury is not a weakness, but a wound that shows you are human. It is also an opportunity for growth, a chance to rediscover meaning, purpose, and strength.

I understand that your culture is unique. Few civilians truly grasp the brotherhood, sacrifice, and warrior spirit that define your calling. That lack of understanding can feel isolating. A stoic culture combined with a function over feelings lifestyle eventually takes its toll. My role is to listen, to understand you better, and to honor your story.

But I also know that the struggle is not only about trauma. Many first responders experience what’s called moral injury — when your core values of service, courage, and protecting life are shaken by what you’ve seen, what you were asked to do, or what you couldn’t prevent. Moral injury cuts deep, because it touches the heart of who you are. It isn’t weakness — it is the natural response of someone whose integrity and humanity matter.

You are a warrior, and even warriors need time to heal. My focus is to equip you with practical tools to build resilience, manage stress, and reconnect with who you are at your core. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to face it alone.

Paramedic / Firefighter

You’ve given everything to protect and save others. In the process, you’ve carried a heavy back pack full of pain, stress, and images that don’t just fade away. Post Traumatic Stress Injury is a human wound. And like any wound, it can heal… with support.

My role is to listen, to understand your story, and to equip you with tools to recover, reconnect, and rediscover who you are. You’ve been there for others — now it’s time to let someone be there for you.

First responders are the heroes of our communities. You run toward danger when others run away. But even heroes get hurt, and the cost of that courage often shows up in ways others can’t see. Too often, few outside your world truly understand your culture, your team, or your sacrifice — and again, that can feel isolating.

My role is to provide a safe space where you’re understood, respected, and equipped with the tools you need to build resilience and reconnect with yourself. Just as you’ve worked in a team to save others, you don’t have to heal alone. Together, we’ll walk this path toward recovery and hope.

Police

You’ve seen what most people will never see. The stress, the danger, the split-second decisions — they leave marks, even on the strongest warriors. Post Traumatic Stress Injury is not weakness; it’s the wound of someone who has stood in the fight. And wounds can heal.

Another wound comes from moral injury. RCMP officers can experience moral injury when they are exposed to situations that violate their core values—such as being unable to protect vulnerable people, witnessing injustice, or being forced to act against their conscience. This can leave deep emotional and spiritual wounds beyond ordinary stress or trauma.

I understand your culture, your brotherhood, your code. I want to hear your story and give you the tools to stay resilient, stay sharp, and rebuild strength from the inside out.

As a Police Officer, you carry the weight of duty, and too often, that weight is carried alone. Civilians may thank you, but few truly understand the sacrifices, the culture, or the cost. That gap creates isolation — but you are not alone.

Post Traumatic Stress Injury is the scar of battle. It means you’re human, and it can also be the start of something greater: growth, purpose, and clarity. You are a warrior, and warriors can rebuild.

My role is to walk with you, to better understand your world, and to help you build mental resilience as you continue to serve, lead, and live.

Together, we can restore focus, strength, and meaning and find solutions which will begin the process of restoring your stress response.

I have experience working with RCMP members over my 40 plus years of counselling. I specialize in trauma therapy utilizing different approaches which vary depending on each individuals need. You can heal and together we will make it happen.
